The International School of Business & Media (ISB&M), Pune proudly launched the Faculty Development Program (FDP) 2025, co-organised Executive Education, on ‘Designing and Publishing High-Quality Research’. This extensive four-day program, which takes place at the esteemed Pune campus from Wednesday, August 20, 2025 to Saturday, August 23, 2025 was a prime example of ISB&M's steadfast commitment to promoting research excellence, raising academic standards and making a major impact on the global scholarly community.

 

ISB&M Pune, founded in 2000 by Dr. Pramod Kumar, is ranked as the second most preferred business school.

Known for its academic excellence and vibrant research culture, it offers PGDM specialisations in Marketing, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, and Media & Communication. Guided by experts from IITs, IIMs, XLRI, TISS and DU, ISB&M focuses on innovation and quality, preparing future leaders to thrive in a dynamic global environment.

 

The Founder Dr. Kumar mentioned that a impactful PGDM institute is, ‘..where visionary leadership meets academic excellence to shape tomorrow's business leaders.’ That is what the focus of this FDP was to take the discussion of publishing in the academia a note higher.

 

This was achieved by the presence of academic and industry achievers from the globe B-schools, featuring as the Chief Guest, Dr. Mina Beigi, Professor at Southampton Business School and co-director at the Work Futures Research Centre, UK and Dr. Praveen Kumar, industry speaker, MD & CEO, Barclays India, joined by India's top social psychologist, Honorary professor and guest speaker Dr. Ramadhar Singh, Alumni-

 

Purdue University and Distinguished University Professor, Ahmedabad University.

 

The four day extensive program comprised of in-depth sessions by Dr. Ramadhar Singh on research methodology and publication strategies. Dr. Mina Beigi, opened her session on reflexive journey of research paper, encouraging attendees to look out for top quality journal, she stated that, ‘there is a home for every research paper that has value; only the author should be patient to find it’. Co-organiser, Dr. Pramod Kumar took a session on selection of research topic followed by other international speakers and academicians included, Dr. Michael Jay Polonsky (Deakin University), who added his profound thoughts on research as, ‘think research as building a house, nobody builds a foundation, he finishes the house. Dr. Sérgio Giovanetti (Washington University), Dr. Rafael Alcadipani (Manchester Business School) and Dr. R. Edward Freeman (Washington University), Dr. Rahul Bagale's . Dr. S. Srinivasan's research statistics workshops and customized workshops by Dr. Sudipt Kumar on data analytics, bibliometrics, and metaanalysis. Technical training on Smart PLS, Meta analysis was shared by Dr. Joshi and Dr. Kumar and SPSS by Dr. U.M. Jada.

 

The Faculty Development Program 2025 was conducted in a hybrid mode that saw the presence of 65+ participants across India from early scholars to professors and industry practitioners, such as IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, NIT Durgapur, IIM Mumbai, Symbiosis International University, MIT ADT university, Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, Ashoka Business School- Nashik, Sardar Patel University of Polic Security and Criminal Justice-Jodhpur, UPES Dehradun, Sophia College-Mumbai and Banaras Hindu University to name just few. Among these, one of the participants quoted that “The FDP is a catalyst for sharper research and stronger publications.” The FDP’s associated sponsor was Sage publishing and  marketing partner by Black Orange - an incubation centre of ISB&M. A head of department of an esteemed organisation and participant at the FDP stated that “The FDP is a catalyst for sharper research and stronger publications.”

 

The co- organiser Dr. Arun threw light on the focus of the FDP stating, 'to develop a culture of curiosity driven research by offering an exposure to the globally leading researchers and FT-50 editors'.

 

 

The FDP’s most distinguishing aspect is the face-to-face interaction with FT-50 journal editors, offering of valuable publishing advice from top quality researchers and academic leaders underscored ISB&M's dedication to nurturing scholarly rigour by the intellectual leadership development community, and in creating globally relevant yet locally contextualized knowledge.

 

This program coincides with ISB&M’s recent successes, including its membership in the Business Graduates Association (BGA) by AMBA and its inclusion in the AACSB network, confirming the Institute’s commitment to global standards of quality and continued academic excellence.
